Back on the Meal Plan

I was not able to control my eating the past 2 weeks, so I've decided to get back on a strict meal plan. I made all of my food for the week Monday night and portioned it out. Each morning I will pack up my IsoBag with a full day's worth of food and off I go!
Today was great (except for a piece of Halloween candy. DANG IT!)

Saturday Morning Weigh-In

Made minimal progress this week. Diet is to blame because I have been busting ass at the gym.
Halloween season has arrived at the office so there is even more candy around than usual (if that is even possible). JUST SAY NO!
We are going to Texas in 2 weeks and I WILL be under 130, so better stay on track for the next 14 days.

Meh

I continued to give a sub par effort this week. Not going to the gym and eating "mostly" healthy. I did lose 2 pounds, but then put them right back on after binging on Saturday and Sunday, so who the hell knows. How about getting my act together starting October 1st? Only a few weeks left before I have to start thinking about Christmas and New Years outfits!

Here is a chart showing my weight loss since July 1st. It is up and down, but overall I am down about 7 pounds, not great, but still a step in the right direction. (obviously add 100 pounds to the weight axis)

I Gave Up

This process has been really hard. Getting in shape is lonely and hard and exhausting and the rewards have been minimal. Last night laying in bed I realized I killed myself for almost 3 months for only 5 pounds, and I gave up. It was a bad week, I started slipping up at the office - a muffin here, a bagel there, a few bites of chocolate candy, sleeping instead of morning cardio, and last night I gave up.
BUT, Mr. Boyfriend give me a stern talking too, he was disappointed in me and knew I could do better. This morning he (literally) picked me up out of bed and forced me to weigh myself and then walk the dog. At Starbucks in line today I was all set to order a Pumpkin Latte, but I got a plain Green Tea instead. I am back bitches!
Thank you boyfriend. Sometimes you really can't do it all alone.

I recently came across this article and found it interesting. I don't know how comfortable I feel with taking pure caffeine, I a really perky person to begin with, but some of these other supplement regiments sound interesting. Especially the amino acid combinations.
Of course there is no quick fix to weight loss, and no pill that will magically melt fat away, but it would be nice if in addition to diet and exercise I was getting a metabolic "boost".

Saturday Morning Weight

1: it was really hot this week and since we don't have air conditioning I didn't sleep well at all
2: I got all excited last weekend about losing weight that I over rewarded myself by eating a bunch of sugar
3: Since it was hot as hell I didn't take Lily out for our usual morning cardio sessions

Wednesday

Went to a Dodger game last night and ate.... NOTHING! Go me!
I had a protein shake in the car on the way to the stadium and then resisted temptation the whole game.
This morning was a killer Pilates session with Aaron Porter @Equinox Westwood. Lily was pissed she didn't get any cardio this morning, but I will make it up to her after work.

How I Meal Prep

I wanted to talk a little about how I prepare my food. Since I have basically zero will power I have to bring my food with me wherever I go. I learned all about this from Gymgirljessie and Dallassrae, my 2 favorite fitness competitors on Instagram.
Each Sunday I prepare all of my food for Monday-Friday. It gets measured out and entered into My Fitness Pal app, so I know how many calories and macro-nutrients I am getting. Everything gets stashed into Tupperware or paper bags and then into the fridge. Each morning after oatmeal I put 1 full day worth of food into a cold bag with some ice and off I go.
Whenever I am hungry at work I just dip into the bag and pull out my next meal.

This week each day I will eat:
Breakfast - Oatmeal (after morning cardio with Lily)
Chilled bag - nonfat plain Greek yogurt, low fat string cheese
Room Temp Bag - turkey jerky, almonds
Salad - bell pepper, lettuce, green beans, cucumber, and either 1/2 avocado or a scoop of garbanzo beans
Warm bowl -  tomatoes, 1/2 a chicken sausage, roasted cauliflower, grilled corn
I make a cellucor protein shake before the gym and then I go to bed when I get home.

Lost the vacation weight! Hooray.
Now it's time to actually trim down for real. I have been stuck around 135 for the past 3 weeks. This week I am going to pump up my cardio and stick to my diet!
I got my sharpie "no" tatoo all ready for whatever treats the office has in store for me this week.
I tried out the "no" on Lily.... "No, we are not going on a walk today." She was not amused.

Wild and Crazy Friday Night

Got wasted on Jägermeister and vodka tonight.  Ha! Just kidding.  I was working out as usual.
A big thanks to Rachel Browning for coming over to kick my ass.

Yesterday I ate a doughnut and a snickers bar. What!?! Why? Because people in my office seem to think every day is Halloween! Stop it.
So, to help myself remember to stay on track I got a little Sharpie tattoo. See? Now I won't forget what to say when I am craving goodies!

Weak

I was back in the gym Sunday and Monday after taking time off from lifting weights during vacation. And I had terrible work-outs! I knew that I would take a step back in my progress by taking time away but I feel like I erased all of the gains of the last 6 weeks! My arm were like spaghetti and my legs were weak. I felt gassed from start to finish. I can't believe how much strength disappeared in such a sort amount of time.
Lame.
All I can do now is get back in there every day and build those little baby muscles back up!
