Eat Clean

Back to a clean diet. I don't do anything dramatic when I diet; Mr. Man and I follow Slow Carb diet to lose fat and feel energized and "clean". The diet forbids carbs such as bread/pasta/potatoes/rice, no dairy or sugar is allowed, and no fruit. We eat fish, meat, poultry, and vegetables. It really worked for me in LA so I am committed to it now until Thanksgiving. Going back to work tomorrow will help limit temptation because I pack all of my food in advance and bring it with me to the office.
This week I gained 1 pound. Not entirely surprising given the lobster party and a liberal amount of wine.

Last Week of Freedom

So ends my last week of unemployment. I start working full time again on Monday. I think it will be a good thing for my fitness. For me a strict schedule helps keep me on target at the gym and taking prepared food to work is a lot safer than grazing out of the refrigerator all day.
This week the dogs and I got a ton of outdoor walking and jogging done. I will definitely miss that when I am back at work.

Week 2

Down 2 more pounds! Next week I am off work as well so my goal is to go to Gold's Gym 5 times during the week. (that would be 5 more times than I went this week)
The Texas heat is finally dying down so the dogs and I have been going out a lot. It's so nice to finally live in a neighborhood where I can walk and not get hit by a car, or chased by a bum, or fall into an enormous pothole. Hooray!
Loki and I will be doing the SnipSA 5k next Saturday benefiting homeless pets in San Antonio. Should be fun!

Week 1 (again)

First week back went well. I am off work this week so there was plenty of time for walking and making clean healthy food. Lost a pound this week. I still have not been to Gold's gym to work out this summer, I am not sure what is holding me back. There is always an excuse.
Lily and Loki are finally playing together, instead of Lily just trying to kill him all the time.
Still happy as a clam in Texas. Next week it is back to strength training and daily cardio!

Doggie Gang. They got bandannas from the vet today. 

Eggplant and bell pepper stir fry. Looks good, right? I wouldn't know.
Lily ate it while I was outside chasing the puppy who escaped out of the back gate.
Assholes.

Hi again!

I'm back!
(Hi JC)
So a little bit has changed since I posed last in November.
We moved to San Antonio, TX and bought a house. I quit my beloved Equinox and joined Gold's Gym out here but haven't worked out in 4 months. I gained back all of the weight I lost since this blog started, and then put on 10 pounds more. Finally, I got another dog.
So, here we are. Day 1 again. I ran .5 miles this evening and I am ready to start my fitness life again.
Also, get ready for a LOT more dog pictures, because my new puppy is unbelievably cute.

Back on the Meal Plan

I was not able to control my eating the past 2 weeks, so I've decided to get back on a strict meal plan. I made all of my food for the week Monday night and portioned it out. Each morning I will pack up my IsoBag with a full day's worth of food and off I go!
Today was great (except for a piece of Halloween candy. DANG IT!)
